Mitchell is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and through this has a certificate in Not-for-Profit Governance from the University of Toronto. Mitchell has experience both sitting on and consulting for not-for- profit boards and recently held the position of Chair and Chief Governance Officer for a student association, during which he received a distinguished literary award for his work with governance and policy. Mitchell is passionate about ethics, policy, and student governance.
Paula Minnikin , ICD.D, Principal.
Paula’s 30-year career has focused on technology, strategy and governance. Paula brings a wealth of technical knowledge, strategic planning and leadership skills to the table. Paula strives to help her clients strike the appropriate balance between avoiding risk and embracing opportunity through the appropriate use of people, process and technology.
Paula’s value to governance and leadership consulting field is enhanced by her dedication to both promoting the profession (she is a founder of the ICD chapter in Atlantic Canada) and the unique perspective she delivers combining her lived experience as a member of C-Suites and Boards, coupled with her grasp of technology.
Paula has served on boards of Private, Not-For-Profit, Academic and Crown Corporations in the capacities of Chair, as well as chairing/vice chairing the Audit Committee, Governance and HR committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Social Responsibility Committees in each of these sectors.
An avid contributor to the sailing, skiing, basketball, business, academic and arts communities, Paula is also an active community volunteer and has devoted her time and talents to innumerable worthy causes over the years.
Robert Patzelt , Q.C., ICD.D, Sr. Advisor.
Robert was appointed Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors for Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia in July 2018. Robert is the Chair of the Board’s Investment Committee and is a member of the Governance and Policy Committee. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Maritime Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). He was a valedictorian of the ICD’s Director Education Program and has returned as part of the faculty and as a Director in Residence.
